The Saskatchewan Holstein Branch
AGM was held November 19th & 20th in
Saskatoon, SK. A large crowd was on hand
for the event, and we had a wonderful time
celebrating a great year for Saskatchewan
Holsteins.
There were 216 cows that scored Excellent
in the province this year, owned by 44
different farms. Leading the way with the
most Excellent cows was Hyljon Farms
(Hague, SK) with 19, followed by Chris-Adie
Holsteins (Vibank, SK) with 17, and Robella
Holsteins and Lovholm Holsteins (Balgonie,
SK) tied with 15.
Winning the ‘Cow of the Year’ award was
Benbie Holsteins (Caron, SK), with BENBIE
HIGH OCTANE CIARA EX-95 3E. In addition
to her many successes in the show ring,
Ciara produced over 90,000kgs in her
Lifetime, earning five Superior Lactations.
Congratulations to Craila Dairy (Langham,
SK) for winning the highly-coveted ‘Breeder
of the Year’ award! Calvin and Diane
Vaandrager, along with Matthew and
Jordan, were on hand to accept the well-
deserved award.
