Outstanding in His Field

On October 28, Judy and I set out on a drive
through the beautiful Eastern Townships
region of Quebec with our friend and former
CEO of Holstein Canada, Ann Louise Carson.
We had no idea of the extraordinary sight that
awaited us on this cool, sunny, autumn day.

Sculpted by renowned Canadian artist Joe Fafard, the statue had originally been installed
in 2014 with much fanfare on a marble pedestal near former Mount Victoria Farms in
Hudson Heights, QC. It was there that the far-reaching influence of JRAP began within
the famous “Montvic” herd owned by Sun Life president T.B. Macaulay. The statue
mysteriously disappeared in late 2018 but has since resurfaced quietly on the property
of a wealthy art collector.

“Carsondale” Master Breeder herd. While always maintaining a close relationship
with producers, she was also known for her collaborative approach within the animal
improvement industry. Ann Louise’s previous involvements during her stellar agricultural
career include parliamentary secretary for the QC Ag Minister, manager at PATQL (milk
recording), GM of Boviteq (embryo export), and GM of Eastern Breeders (AI).
